Description
Attend the world's largest People's Fair in the World - the famous Oktoberfest in Munich! You'll have three days to enjoy Munich and the annual festival celebrating beer that the locals called die Wiesen,named for the Theresienwiesen (meadow of Therese a Crown Princess of Bavaria), the fairgrounds on which the festival is held. Enjoy not only great Bavarian beer (which must be brewed within the city limits of Munich to be served at the festival) but also the traditional foods of the festival: Hendl (chicken),Schweinebraten (roast pork), Steckerlfisch (grilled fish on a stick), tasty Würstl (sausages),Sauerkraut, Knödel and local Bavarian delicacies!

While in Bavaria, visit two of Mad King Ludwig II's palaces, the Neuschwanstein Castle with its breathtaking views of the valley below, and the Linderhof Palace, a rococo-period masterpiece inspired by the Palace of Versailles. Take a walking tour of Regensburg, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Germany before heading into the Bohemian region of the Czech Republic.

In Pilsen (Plzen) tour the Plzen Brewery, which produces the original Pilsner Urquell, a lighter style of lager. Arrive in Prague, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic and the historical capital of Bohemia. Once the capital of the Holy Roman Empire, Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, including the Charles Bridge over the Vitava River, the Astronomical Clock and Prague Castle. The castle's St. Vitus Cathedral stores the Czech Crown Jewels. Tour the castle and cathedral (its original church was founded by Wenceslaus I, Duke of Bohemia, in 925, who became sainted and is the subject of the Christmas carol, Good King Wenceslas).
